First Baptist Church in Ringgold, Louisiana, had blue seat-only upholstery that was showing its age. Leadership wanted a calmer, more pulled-together sanctuary. Sharpe’s Church Interiors reupholstered seats and the front of the backs in a Watercolor fabric — on-site, around their service schedule.
What they wanted
The old blue seats left the backs bare wood, so the rows looked a bit split. They wanted cushioning on the back as well, and a fabric that worked with the carpet, walls, and light in the room. After samples, they landed on Watercolor — soft neutrals with enough texture to hold interest without shouting.
Seat-only to seat-and-back
Moving from seat-only to padded fronts on the backs does two things: people sit more comfortably, and the rows look finished. We checked joints, then built foam and fabric into that new layout pew by pew.
On-site in Ringgold
We worked in the sanctuary so pews didn’t leave the building. Section by section kept Sundays available. High-density foam, tight seams, Factory-to-Field style fastening — the usual shop standard.
- Before: dated blue seat-only fabric

- After: Watercolor on seat and front of back
