Church Carpet & Flooring

We do not hire a flooring sub. Our own crew installs roll carpet, carpet tile, LVT, and tile around the pew schedule. Most churches do pews week one and flooring week two.

Is this the right fit?

Who our church carpet and flooring work is for

Carpet does a lot of quiet work in a church — comfort underfoot, traction for kids and older members, and a big say in how the room sounds. New pews on a tired floor still don’t make the room feel cared for.

  • Worn, stained, or faded sanctuary carpet
  • Churches doing pews and wanting the floor to match
  • Busy parishes that need flooring they can patch, like the daily-Mass parish in Victoria, TX
  • Fellowship halls and kids’ areas where spills are a weekly event
  • Stages and platforms that should match the main floor

New carpet is often the right time to repaint, so walls and floor are finished on one schedule. See church painting.

Process

How we install church carpet around the pew schedule

  1. Pick the right floor

Roll carpet, carpet tile, LVT, or tile — we match the product to the room, the traffic, and the acoustics.

  2. Color with the fabric

Floor color is chosen with your pew fabric so the room reads as one space.

  3. Pews first

When pews are part of the job, the pew crew works first.

  4. Flooring the next week

Our flooring crew follows the next week, scheduled so you never miss a Sunday.

Before you call

Planning checklist for church carpet and flooring

  • Our own flooring crew installs it. The same company as the pew crew, so carpet and pews can be planned together.

  • Roll carpet or carpet tile. They behave differently for acoustics, seams and replacing stained areas later.

  • Paint often rides with new carpet. Bring walls into the same plan if they are tired, so both finish on one schedule.

  • Measure platform, aisles and under-pew areas. Transitions at the altar and doors decide how the material is cut.

  • Check carpet next to fabric and walls. Acoustics matter too. A hard floor and a soft floor change how Sunday sounds.

  • Schedule flooring after the press. If pews are recovered in the same season, new carpet should not be walked on by the upholstery crew.

FAQ

Church carpet and flooring questions

Tap a question to read the answer.

Tiles or broadloom

Carpet tile costs about 15–25% more and lets you replace a stained square. Broadloom still lasts 20+ years.

Why it belongs with the pews

New pews on a tired floor don't yet feel like the room is cared for. Doing both in one trip is the Core package. Masterpiece adds wood refresh and one rendering.

Do you subcontract flooring?

No. Our flooring crew are Sharpe’s employees, the same as our upholstery crew.

Will we miss a Sunday?

No. Most churches do pews week one and flooring week two, scheduled around services.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. 25 years on flooring workmanship.

Which is better for sound?

Roll carpet usually absorbs more sound than tile, which can matter in a lively sanctuary. Many churches use roll carpet in the sanctuary and tile in high-spill rooms.

Do you subcontract flooring?

No. Our own flooring crew installs it.

Roll carpet or carpet tile?

It depends on acoustics, traffic, and how you want to replace stained areas later. We walk that through with the committee.

Can flooring run with pew work?

Yes. Core and Masterpiece packages exist so the floor and pews finish together.

What should we measure before asking for a flooring quote?

The platform, the aisles and the under-pew areas, plus notes on transitions at the altar and doors. Photos of those edges help.
