How Much Does a Church Steeple Cost?

There’s probably not a more iconic part of your church than the steeple. It’s often the first thing people will see when coming around the bend. Rising high into the sky, church steeples announce exactly what your building is for. It’s a place of worship, and a place to gather. Church Steeples cost vary significantly.

Unsurprisingly, many churches like to invest a good amount of money into their steeples. Among other things, it helps them stand out.

So how much does a steeple cost? There’s no one-size fits all answer but we can give you some rough ideas of church steeple costs. The first question you need to ask is whether you want a custom built church steeple, or if you’d rather save some money and buy kit steeples.

Let’s take a look.

Prebuilt Versus Custom Church Steeples

You can now buy kit homes, barns, and other structures. Assembly is required, but the home or other structure kit will come with all the necessary parts. The same is true for kit steeples. You’ll buy a kit, pay for its shipping, and then pay for installation.

Kit steeples are mass produced. While steeple manufacturers may offer a range of options, your choices will still be limited. Some kits, quite frankly, look rather cheap and could even become an eyesore. However, other kits perform an admirable job.

Still, it’s hard to top a custom designed and built steeple, especially if you turn to true professionals. A custom steeple will almost always cost more than a comparable kit steeple. Yet it will be uniquely yours. Further, if genuine craftsmen are designing and crafting your steeple, the quality will likely be higher than even a great kit.

Of course, that quality doesn’t come for free. Custom built church steeples can be very expensive. This is especially true if you want a large or particularly unique steeple.

You’ll have to decide what fits your needs and budget. If you’re on a budget, a prebuilt steeple is probably a more financially sound choice. If you’ve got the funds and really want to stand out in the skyline, a custom steeple could be a wise investment.

So how about costs? Let’s dig deeper.

Prebuilt Steeple Costs

You can buy a prebuilt steeple cost for as little as $1,000 dollars, although often you’ll have to pay a bit more. Despite the low cost, you can expect a prebuilt steeple in this price range to be between 10 to 13 feet high.
Cheaper kits often feature simple, utilitarian designs. The kits will look good but if you’re looking for a more elaborate or taller steeple, you’re going to have to pay a premium.

Premium kits, which are frequently 25 feet or taller, can easily cost $10,000 or more. These kits often feature elaborate designs, such as windows and other decorative features. While typically these church steeples are less than $5,000.00

Many kits are sold between $1,000 and $10,000 dollars. If you’re looking for a bigger steeple, or one with more elaborate decorative features, but don’t want to spend $10,000 or more, you’ll be able to find a more affordable steeple. It may not feature all the “bells and whistles” of a premium kit, but you’ll likely find one that suits your needs and tastes.

However, keep in mind that you will have to pay for shipping and assembly. That will add to the costs. The exact price will depend on local market conditions and contractors. Also, some steeple kits do not come with crosses or bells. Make sure you read the fine print and know what’s included. Steeples for churches are all shipped and installed professionally. Many steeple companies do offer basic free design services and rendering. However, you can expect your custom steeple to cost quite a bit more than a kit. Prices can vary a lot from company to company, so you’ll have to reach out to individual companies to enquire about their fees.
