Church Audio, Video & Lighting

We plan audio, video, and lighting with the same designer who picks the fabric and wall color. The work is done through a trusted AVL partner and coordinated by your Sharpe’s project manager, so it runs on the same schedule as the rest of the sanctuary.

Is this the right fit?

Who church AVL planning is for

AVL added after a renovation means drilling into a finished room. Planning it with the rest of the sanctuary means one schedule and no new holes in fresh plaster.

  • Sanctuaries being renovated that also need sound, screens, or lighting
  • Historic rooms where equipment has to be discreet
  • Churches whose sightlines change with a new pew layout
  • Committees tired of coordinating a separate AV vendor on their own

What’s included

What’s included in our church AVL work

  • Sanctuary audio, video, and architectural lighting
  • Specified with pew layout and sightlines
  • Discreet installs in historic rooms
  • Coordinated with paint and stage work
  • Delivered by a trusted AVL partner
  • One Sharpe’s project manager coordinating the schedule

Process

How AVL fits into a sanctuary project

  1. Walk the room

We look at the sanctuary, the stage, and how the room is used on Sunday.

  2. Plan with the design

Speakers, screens, and lighting are planned with the pew layout, sightlines, and finishes.

  3. Schedule with the trades

Your project manager sequences the AVL work with paint and stage work so nothing gets drilled twice.

  4. Install and hand off

Our AVL partner installs the system, and your project manager keeps it on the same calendar as the rest of the job.

Planning checklist

The room is part of the sound system

  • Finishes change how a sanctuary sounds. Carpet, fabric and hard surfaces all affect speech and music.

  • Sightlines change with the layout. A new pew plan, platform or lighting all affect what people see and hear.

Before you call

Planning AVL with the rest of the sanctuary

  • Done through a partner we trust. Your Sharpe’s project manager coordinates so the committee is not juggling vendors.

  • Plan speakers and screens with the pews. Adding them after the layout is set usually costs more and looks worse.

  • Choose the floor with the audio plan. Finishes change how a sanctuary sounds. Plan them together.

  • Historic rooms need discreet installs. Tell us what has to stay invisible so the partner can design for it.
